The Herd Name Jordan Brady As Team’s First Head Coach

on

The Wisconsin Herd have hired Jordan Brady to be the first head coach in team history. Herd General Manager Dave Dean announced the hiring today. Brady brings with him a wealth of G League skills and knowledge to the first year organization. “Jordan has the right experience and tools to develop young talent and build the foundation for a successful NBA G League team,” Dean said. “We are excited to have him at the helm for the Herd in our inaugural season.”

Jordan was an assistant coach in the NBA Development League for the past 5 years, spending one season each with the Iowa Energy, Bakersfield Jam, Los Angeles D-Fenders, Idaho Stampede, and most recently the Salt Lake City Stars. Prior to coaching, Brady also played 3 seasons in the d league. He spent two years with the Utah Flash, and then split a season between the LA D-Fenders and Iowa Stampede.

This is a great hire for the Herd, and a great move for an organization looking to mirror the culture and success of its’ NBA affiliate, the Milwaukee Bucks. Dave Dean has also echoed the sentiments of Bucks’ GM Jon Horst about the Wisconsin Herd being an essential part of Milwaukee becoming a championship caliber team. Dean went on to say that Brady, “brings the grit, leadership, and vision necessary to spark that process in Oshkosh.”

I am very much looking forward to this inaugural season for the Herd. Oshkosh is a town that loves basketball, and has seen great high school and college teams in the past. It’s incredibly exciting to have another professional team in the state. The Herd are built for success, both on and off the court, and Brady will be a big part of that.

The NBA G League will be holding an expansion draft on August 23rd. Getting Coach Brady on board now, allows the organization more time to better prepare to build their roster. We already know Bronson Koenig and Jalen Moore will be with the team, as they both signed two-way contracts with the Bucks.
