Track: 5th straight sellout for the season-opening Daytona 500

Daytona Beach, Fla. (AP) – Daytona 500 pulled fifth-year sales loss.

Daytona International Speedway announced Thursday that all reserved grandstand seats have been purchased for the nd-2 race of “The Great American Race.”

“We have some of the most loyal and passionate fans in the sport, and we are forever grateful for their support,” said Track President Chip Weil.

With access to premium hospitality areas, there are a few special tickets left, including in-infield and pre-race concerts featuring country / pop star Darius Rucker.

President Donald Trump will serve as a grand marshal and give drivers a command to start their engines. He was the first architect to join Daytona III after George W. Bush in the 21st.

Other pre-race celebrities: Retired NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. will serve as a respected starter and watch the green flag. WWE star Sheamus will serve as the honorable Pace driver and take the field in green flags. The acclaimed vocalist of the United States Air Force Band will sing the National Anthem.
